Rurusmon for :iconmetoku:
An animated sprite, her first place prize upon winning the #TheDigitalCup OCT last month!

I was supposed to go up against her in the tournaments third round, but dropped out because of time constraints. I'm really glad she went all the way though to win; congratulations (:!!

Butyeah, it took me a while to get this one out; I haven't sprited in nearly a year and so I definitely felt rusty when I started. My biggest struggle was just getting a pose that I could comfortably loop, and so I ended up just modifying his feet lawl (sorry Metoku‼)
Attack Mode!

For stuff like this, just Photoshop with the animation window up.

like, how can i make the movements smooth. Ive had little experience with digital drawing on a computer, but I do pretty well with frame by frame animation.
Are you famillar with this [link]
It was the first animation tool I used

Sprites like this one are just simple pose-to-pose;;
I start with the initial and the final frames, and then fill in the movements in between. The making it smooth part really just comes down to a lot of testing and tweaking haha.
I break everything up into sections, and animate each component individually;; like the head, the arm, the other arm, the leg, the foot etc etc. Once each part more or less moves right, I put them all in place and tweak what needs to be tweaked. It's a very messy way to do things, and sometimes it can be a complete disaster, but it works for me.
Butyeah, I've never come across one of those things before.. I've only ever animated using Photoshop and MSPAINT, so I'd recommend using those to get started (:

PhotoshopCS2, though it works with any version of Photoshop, you just click->hold the brush tool to swap it with a pencil one, and then Windows->Animation to bring up the animation timeline;;

Hmmm, I know it happens a lot with imagehosting sites but I've not seen it happen on dA before; it's just where the site tries to resize the .gif, which causes it to go blurry, since the pixels aren't supposed to be reduced.
ohwell anywayss; thanks!

Ohreallyyy. I didnt even know you were making thiss, Im so out of the loop haha;
Now I feel like drawing the prize I owe her too lawl.

Reallly like the animation and spriting, it works very well! As always your interpretation is so much more badass than the original cudly one haha, yet it seems to fit with this Digimon. The monochrome sprite also reminds me of the Pokemon red/blue sprites back in the dayss, which is always a good thing lawl.

haha, that's what happens when you ditch art-time with me to play with JAMES BOND instead D:
Ooh and I see what you mean, though I totally didn't mean for it to come out monotone-esque lawl;; it's got like... 16 colours whereas the R/B ones only have like 4. I will blame the very purpley-cool colourscheme (:.
Thank you Antipathy00 ♥:heart:

It's never too late to try you hand at it (:.
I started out on MSpaint, with my Gameboy sitting next to me, just remaking the Gold/Silver Pokemon Sprites haha.
It's never something I've dedicated much time into learning how to do properly, but you pick up what to do if you just sit down and make a sprite every once in a while lawl.
