**Click for Detail of Charmeleon**, ya'know just so all the work I put into this monstrosity doesn't go to waste. ^^;

I felt like doing something that wasn't PCBC/Kiriban/contest related, I gotta say it felt good to finally put some effort into colouring for a change.
So anyway, ages ago I said to *lachechucita that I was gunna draw cute little Charmeleon; I started working through this and figured why not chuck in another of her favorites in there as well; Kabutops.
I've also adored these two since the very beginning, they've gotta be two of the most bad ass Pokemons ever invented. And so here they are... doing what Poor and Dangerous Pokemon do best, sitting on tall rocks just glaring at you.

I really kinda messed up on Charmeleon though, I worked forever on those stupid scales and spikes and stuff trying desperately to make him tough and dinosaur like, only to realize they look like garbage when they're zoomed out. This is why I don't do detail ladies and gentlemen.

Edit; 03 May 2009
Ohgod, wow. Was not expecting this.
If this is actually a DD, and not my mind just having finally broken from working on this assignment for too long... I'm totally just overjoyed and speechless right now. You guys are crazy :D.

Huge thanks to any and everyone who favorites, watches or comments; and all my love goes to =elicoronel16 and ^ArtisticAunJuli. Endless thanks to both of you, for absolutely making my day~<3

The scales look fantastico! This is beautiful, and badass. I love the back-lighting. And is that a Scorupi I spot on the bottom, or just a random scrorpion?
:iconxsheepi:
haha I can't help but agree with you :D

This is awsome! I can't believe how much detail you put into this! And I like the way Charmeleon came out. And the pictue has this overall scarey but yet relaxing feel to it.

I hate art theives, I attack them with a vengeance.
:iconxsheepi:
ooo they do? I kinda don't like them xD, especially since they're so detailed and the rest of the picture... isn't. ^^;

haha thanks very much :glomp:!
and yuss it's a crafty little Skorupi! I've kinda always wanted to have a go at drawing one since I made that PCBC team, he really should have been on there, but I had to give the 1st/2nd gen Pokemons priority.

Sometimes too much detail all over can be distracting, and it's better to have a lot in some places and less in others. I don't think there's a weird balance of detail throughout this picture, everything fits.
