Another contest entry thingi ^^;
this one is for :icondbjet:'s, to design a weapon and/or amour for a Marowak in his upcoming webcomic: Quest of Dreams.

I figure he's a pretty tough guy, cos its a Marowak, and they're all a savage bunch of critters, so his gears all set out just to put a nice big dent into whatever he feels like taking a swing at... the rest kinda explains itself :)

also, +100 internets if you know where that quote (feed me a stray cat) is from!!

...Dude, gross.

Your Marowak tortures other Pokemon?
Not cool.

In a universe where maliciously slaughtering your friends and rivals pets, purely for competition and entertainment, is encouraged; forgive me for creating a character who has a mindset which is consequently a product of his environment.

I don't think Pokemon is about maliciousness *or* slaughtering, dude.
I mean, I suppose everybody is entitled to their artistic take on a subject, but it's kind of like boxing with animals instead of huge, beefy guys. And Pokemon and their trainers are BFFs, remember?

Just like boxing, except with 10,000 degree flamethrowers, 50,000 voltage electricity guns, scythes, clubs, and knives, suicide bombing, ripping apart the mechanics of time and utilizing the negative energy against the opponent.
While Pokemon plays the moral card a lot with the love/respect thing, if the concept of earthly-physics defying creatures was ever implemented into this (real life) universe; sadly, I can't imagine they would ever be used any more gloriously then cocks and pitbulls.

I considered cock fighting a similarity, but I don't think it's the same because Pokemon are trained and raised from what's essentially their childhood to grow into strong, wholesome individuals. Roosters are mutilated and beaten, and then kicked into a ring until one dies. Sort of like bull riding.
I mean, I can see your take on the brutality of it when applied to real life, but the baby Kakuna?
...In the club?
I don't know, that's like, unnecessary. That's the Marowak's decision, and I don't know if I can ever see a Pokemon driven to such soulless behavior.

Actually, the Kakuna would more or less be unharmed considering how durable their shells can become. I'd be more concerned about the Marowak's wellbeing.

Can you imagine what happens when the metamorphosis is complete and an angry Beedrill goes after it for swinging it around so much? Really, I kindof fid it lolworthy to think how that'll turn out.

Furthermore, you can't tell me that Pokemon are 100% innocent creatures. From all that I've seen of Pokemon since it first came out, I have come to the conclusion that they have different personalities akin to those of humans.

Just like people, Pokemon- Seeing as theya ppear sentient enough- can have individuals who exhibit malicious, unsavory, and other similarly socially frowned upon behavior.

Why would the Marowak be so violent? Well, why would a human? You never know. Ifyou're going to say you respect the artist's rendition, don't sit there and argue about how yhink otherwise. You just end up conflicting with you own statements.

Sorry, I just felt I had to jump into this.
